Become a PADI Instructor – Instructor Development Course (IDC)
Take your passion for diving to the professional level with our comprehensive PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC), led by an experienced PADI Course Director. This program transforms certified Divemasters (or equivalent) into skilled scuba instructors capable of teaching PADI courses worldwide. The IDC consists of two main parts — the Assistant Instructor course and the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program — and prepares you thoroughly for the final Instructor Examination.
PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC)

During the course you will develop strong teaching skills through classroom presentations, confined water teaching practice, and open water sessions. Topics include the PADI System of Education, how to organize and conduct courses, diver safety management, leadership techniques, and effective communication. You will also refine your own dive skills and learn to demonstrate and teach all core PADI skills clearly and confidently. The program typically runs over 7–14 days, depending on the schedule, and includes extensive hands-on practice.
As a PADI Course Director, my wife provides personalized guidance and support throughout the entire process, helping you build the confidence and professionalism needed to succeed. Many graduates go on to teach full-time, lead dive trips, or build their own diving businesses around the globe. Prerequisites include being at least 18 years old, holding a PADI Divemaster certification (or equivalent) with a minimum of 60 logged dives (100 for the IE), current Emergency First Response training, and a medical statement.
If you are ready to share your love of the ocean and inspire new divers, reach out to us for upcoming IDC dates, detailed requirements, or a friendly discussion about your career goals. We are here to support your journey every step of the way.
